Color
Color plays a big factor when you begin designing a project. Know exactly what your goals are and what medium you are designing for.
There many types of color variables, but the most common are RGB and CMYK. Red (R), Green (G) and Blue (B) is the primary color model used by electronic display devices (e.g., monitors). RGB are the primary colors of light.
CMYK is a color model in which all colors are described as a mixture of cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
Something that looks good on your monitor may not look the same when it is printed. To overcome this limitation, many applications like QuarkXpress or InDesign allow you to work with an image by specifying CMYK color instead of RGB. Other software, like Photoshop allow you to change your image from RGB to CMYK. High-end printers can supplement CMYK inks with specific spot color inks or PMS (Pantone Matching System) that help match the original.
